Holiday Gift & Shopping Guide

Holiday Gift & Shopping Guide

Am I the only one who feels like Covid-time is so much faster than regular time? I can’t quite figure it out, but each week passes quicker than the last. Maybe it’s because each new day is a lot like the one before it.

Yesterday was summer and tomorrow will be Thanksgiving and the day after that will be Christmas. The experts are telling us to shop early this year to avoid product shortages and longer mail times. In order to help with your shopping, I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite makers and shops that I hope you’ll support this holiday season as well as a few ideas from our online store.

Beam & Branch

Beam & Branch offers handcrafted baskets made out of rope that's dyed with natural materials. I have one of these in my house and it makes me smile every time I see it. They make useful, beautiful gifts. Visit Beam & Branch at www.beamandbranch.com

Calm and Cure Candle Co.

Eleven-year-old Uzziah has “a dream to calm the world” and his story is just as amazing as his candles. My favorite is the “Calm” vanilla rose candle, but I also love “Thankful” honeyed amber and tonka. I can’t wait to give his Holiday Gift Box to a few of my favorite people this year. Visit Calm and Cure to shop online.

Diament

I really hope I have the opportunity to visit Diament in person some day. (They're one of our retail partners and are located in Washington, DC.) They have a swing in their store -- does it get any better than that? The store is packed with so many fun things, it's hard to choose, but I definitely have this Dolly Parton mug and this Bob Ross ornament on the list of things I want.

MB Art Studios

Mary and Cory are the husband and wife team behind MB Art Studios. If you’re local to Reno, you’ve no doubt seen their beautiful work. They make “goods with words that encourage and inspire.” Check out their Etsy shop for their shirts and ceramics: www.etsy.com/shop/mbartstudios/

Perch

Perch is an independent gift shop in San Francisco. They "offer an eclectic collection of gifts & home accents influenced by our favorite mix of modern, vintage, and international products." They're also one of our retail partners and were the first store to carry Pipit & Finch soap. I especially love the self-care essentials section of their online shop.

Prude & Boujee

This shop specializes in Korean skincare and offers a wide range of products at different price points. If you can't visit this charming shop in person, be sure to check them out online

Rural Roots

Becki is a leather artisan and makes so many fantastic things from jewelry to pet accessories. Her leather bands are my favorite. Visit Rural Roots online.

Sierra Sage Designs

Bernadette makes the most beautiful silver jewelry and is an all-around lovely human. Her designs are “inspired by southwestern hippy free spirits that inhabit my crazy Nevada high desert that I love to pieces.” Her jewelry is whimsical, tactile, and she uses the most beautiful materials, including some of the prettiest turquoise I’ve ever seen. Shop the collection here.

Sierra Water

If you’re local to Reno, visit Sierra Water for one of the most magical in-person shopping experiences. Primarily a plant store, they also carry a wonderful selection of handcrafted goods, including our soap. The owner, Sam, is one of the kindest, most generous people I’ve met and she and her husband Sutter do a ton of good for makers and our community.

Pipit & Finch

I’m a sucker for a little container, box, or bag and think you can never have too many of any of these things. The pouches we carry from Fog Linen Work are perfect for cosmetics, toiletries, and all of the random things that end up at the bottom of your bag.

We offer a couple of pre-selected gift boxes, but you also have the option of making your own. Add everything you’d like included in your box along with one of our
handcrafted, wooden gift boxes (stamped with the Pipit & Finch logo and made by William) and I’ll put it together for you. Each box is filled with natural filler and wrapped with an off-white satin ribbon. Write a personalized note and checkout and we'll include it in a handwritten card. Shop our full collection here: https://pipitandfinch.com/collections/all.
Our bath mittens or handcrafted soap dishes tied with ribbon to a bar of soap make a thoughtful, complete gift.

New to the shop are our handcrafted beard combs and brushes. And these cute, linen headbands. Both make great stocking stuffers!

Christmas gift wrap

We’re offering gift wrap this year! Select the gift wrap option at check out and I’ll wrap your gift in Rifle Paper Company's partridge wrapping paper with gold foil accents. Each box is tied with a gold ribbon and includes a gold foil gift tag.
